The President of Uzbekistan discussed partnership priorities with the New Development Bank

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank, who arrived in our country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The meeting focused on further developing cooperation with this international financial institution, primarily through the implementation of high-level agreements reached during previous meetings.

Dilma Rousseff praised the reforms underway in Uzbekistan and expressed her readiness to continue supporting the country’s priority socioeconomic development areas.

Uzbekistan’s accession to the New Development Bank was noted with satisfaction. An agreement was reached to develop a medium-term portfolio of joint projects in energy, water management, transport and engineering infrastructure, as well as support for the private and social sectors, with the participation of Bank expert missions. The importance of the NDB’s participation in the implementation of major regional transport and logistics projects was emphasized.

Special attention was given to the Bank’s participation in ongoing programs and projects for the country’s environmental transformation.

Plans for holding major events of the New Development Bank in Uzbekistan in the future were discussed.
