The President of Uzbekistan identified key areas of investment cooperation with leading US financial institutions

As part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with John Yovanovitch, President and Chairman of the U.S. Eximbank, and Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the press service of the head of our state reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guests conveyed to the head of state sincere greetings and warm wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump.

During the talks, the participation of these institutions in financing strategic projects in Uzbekistan, in high-tech sectors such as infrastructure development, critical mineral development, energy, artificial intelligence, and digitalization, were discussed in detail.

In cooperation with the U.S. Eximbank, an agreement was reached to accelerate the implementation of joint projects to modernize the energy sector. Particular attention was paid to the further development of export lending for domestic business initiatives in priority areas.

The parties supported DFC’s initiatives to launch a joint investment platform aimed at supporting projects in healthcare, energy sector modernization, and infrastructure.

The need to move to the practical phase of implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a new international airport in Tashkent, the creation of a modern medical complex in the Fergana region, the launch of a digital bank, and the construction of data centers and dry ports, was emphasized.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to adopt a joint roadmap for advancing the discussed investment and technology projects.
