The President of Uzbekistan noted the key areas of partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

On May 19, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun in the city of Xi’an as part of the events of the second day of his state visit to China, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Practical aspects of further expansion of Uzbekistan’s strategic cooperation with this reputable international financial institution were considered.

The high dynamics of the development of relations with the Bank in recent years was noted with particular satisfaction – the portfolio of priority investment and socially significant projects exceeded $2 billion.

The focus was on supporting and promoting programs to combat poverty and improve the welfare of the population, the introduction of renewable energy, the modernization of transport infrastructure, and the development of the private sector.

The importance of the early adoption of a new Partnership Program and the preparation of major joint events was emphasized.
