The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of continuing active inter-parliamentary cooperation with Turkey

On July 13, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Republic of Turkey headed by the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Grand National Assembly Fuat Oktay, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Turkish relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation were considered.

At the beginning of the meeting, Fuat Oktay, on behalf of the President and the fraternal people of Turkey, conveyed sincere congratulations to the leader of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the recent presidential elections.

It was emphasized that the Turkish side highly appreciates and fully supports the pragmatic policy of the President of Uzbekistan, aimed at improving the welfare of the population and strengthening the international authority of the country.

During the talks, special attention was paid to the issues of developing inter-parliamentary exchanges and strengthening parliamentary control over the implementation of decisions taken at the highest level.

The head of our state welcomed the agreements on the establishment of inter-parliamentary cooperation groups and the development of an appropriate road map.

The importance of taking coordinated measures to increase the volume of mutual trade and expand air traffic, promote promising investment projects, and hold joint cultural and humanitarian events was also noted.
