The President of Uzbekistan highlighted opportunities for expanding investment cooperation with Saudi Arabia

As part of the working visit to Riyadh, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid al-Falih, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The issues of further expansion of practical cooperation were discussed, primarily the implementation of priority investment projects in Uzbekistan in the context of fulfilling agreements at the highest level.

The dynamic development of Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted cooperation in recent years was noted with deep satisfaction.

The volume of mutual trade, the scale of cooperation and the frequency of flights are growing. It is expected that by the end of the current year, about $2.5 billion in investments from Saudi companies will be attracted.

The importance of promoting promising projects in such sectors as green energy, healthcare, modernization of transport infrastructure, heat and water supply, agriculture and housing and communal services was emphasized.

In this context, the need for careful preparation of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent was noted.
