Continuing the business program of his official visit to Tokyo, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Nobumitsu Hayashi, Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the press service of the head of our state reports.
The parties discussed current issues related to the further expansion of the strategic partnership with this leading financial institution.
The positive dynamics of cooperation with the Bank in recent years were noted with satisfaction. The total project portfolio has exceeded $5 billion and covers such sectors as petrochemicals, energy, telecommunications, infrastructure, light industry, and other areas.
Particular attention was paid to the high-quality preparation of new projects and improving the performance of existing ones, totaling over $10 billion, in energy, transport, IT infrastructure development, healthcare modernization, and other priority areas.
The importance of expanding investments in support of public-private partnership projects in the social sphere, as well as private sector development, was emphasized.
In turn, Governor Nobumitsu Hayashi praised the partnership’s results and expressed support for the large-scale reform program being implemented in New Uzbekistan.
