The President of Uzbekistan proposed to adopt a cooperation program with Sumitomo Corporation

Continuing his business program in Tokyo, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Shingo Ueno, President of Sumitomo Corporation, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The parties discussed the further development of their strategic partnership and the implementation of joint projects in energy and industry.

The start of construction of two solar power plants and energy storage systems in the Samarkand region was noted with satisfaction. The importance of accelerating the implementation of a similar project based on wind farms and batteries in the Republic of Karakalpakstan was emphasized.

The company’s plans to participate in the production of ultra-high-voltage cable products and modernize its ambulance fleet were agreed upon.

Following the meeting, the head of state proposed the adoption of a Cooperation Program with the corporation until 2030.
