The President of Uzbekistan met with the delegation of Italy

On April 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Minister of Defense of the Italian Republic Guido Crosetto, who is in our country on a visit, the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

Issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Italian multifaceted relations were considered.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the defense department conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and best wishes from Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Giorgi Meloni.

The current high level of bilateral cooperation was noted with satisfaction. A constructive political dialogue is developing. Over the past few years, the volume of mutual trade and investment has doubled. There are branches of the leading Italian universities in our country – Turin Polytechnic and Pisa Universities.

Joint preparations are underway for upcoming high-level events.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to issues of practical cooperation in the field of energy, including renewable energy, logistics, agriculture and other industries.

The head of our state noted the importance of establishing partnerships between the defense departments of Uzbekistan and Italy.

An exchange of views also took place on issues of ensuring regional stability and security, including a peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
