The President of Uzbekistan received the Director General of Rosatom Corporation

On October 23, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom Corporation, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The meeting focused on the practical implementation of the project to build the country’s first integrated nuclear power plant, as well as the development of related infrastructure using advanced technologies and expertise.

Satisfaction was expressed with the ongoing work on the foundation of the first reactor building and the design of the nuclear power plant.

Particular attention was paid to training qualified personnel for the nuclear industry, including at the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and at Rosatom facilities.

The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation on developing a town for nuclear power plant workers near the future facility, featuring energy-efficient housing, modern educational, medical and sports facilities, and other amenities to ensure a comfortable living environment.
