The President of Uzbekistan met with the head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission

The issues of preparation and conduct of the upcoming presidential elections were considered at the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the head of the mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) Ursula Gachek, held on July 3. This was reported by the press service of the head of our state.

The head of our state noted with deep satisfaction the established constructive dialogue, active exchanges, open and fruitful cooperation with the OSCE.

Bureau experts took part in the modernization of the national electoral system, including the development of the Electoral Code of our country.

The OSCE/ODIHR mission also participated in the observation of the constitutional referendum held on 30 April this year.

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on various aspects of holding a popular vote in accordance with international standards.

The head of the ODIHR mission, Ursula Gachek, expressed support for the irreversible processes of further deepening democratic transformations and socio-economic reforms in New Uzbekistan. Measures being taken to hold transparent and fair elections in our country were noted.
