The President of Uzbekistan received the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived in our country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of the Azerbaijani companies PASHA Holding, Neqsol Holding, AzerGold, and the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ali Asadov conveyed to the head of state the sincere greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The Uzbek leader, in turn, congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the previous day’s holiday, National Salvation Day.

The parties discussed current issues related to the further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance.

The active contacts at all levels were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover has increased by 40 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects in construction, energy, mining, geology, logistics, tourism, and other sectors are being successfully implemented.

The importance of the two governments carefully preparing the economic agenda for the upcoming summit was emphasized.

In this context, the need to ensure the effectiveness of the planned meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions was emphasized.
