On November 5, during a working visit to Washington, D.C., President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Senator Steve Daines, Co-Chair of the U.S. Senate Central Asia Caucus, at his residence, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
The parties discussed the further strengthening of the Uzbek-American strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation.
The President praised interparliamentary interaction, particularly the work of the Senate Central Asia Caucus.
The unprecedentedly high level of bilateral cooperation was noted with satisfaction. Mutual trade figures are growing, and the number of successful cooperation projects with leading American companies is increasing.
Record-sum agreements and contracts have been signed in recent months. The signing of new economic documents is planned during the current visit. The importance of U.S. Congressional support for the practical implementation of these agreements was emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to continuing active cooperation with the state of Montana, represented by Senator Steve Daines. An agreement was reached to organize a state business mission to Uzbekistan.
An exchange of views on current international and regional issues of mutual interest also took place.
