The President of Uzbekistan took part in the business forum of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue

Continuing the program of events of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a multilateral business forum, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The event was also attended by Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Current issues related to the development of trade and economic cooperation between Central Asia and Japan, attracting Japanese investment and advanced technologies to the region, expanding industrial cooperation, and strengthening direct contacts between business circles were discussed.

Joint economic projects were presented.

These include Uzbek-Japanese investment initiatives such as the construction of two solar power plants in Uzbekistan by Sumitomo, Chubu Electric Power, and Shikoku Electric Power with the support of JBIC and NEXI; the modernization of

IT infrastructure with the participation of Toyota Tsusho; the creation of a multidisciplinary medical center by Sojitz; and the development of new critical mineral deposits with the participation of JOGMEC.

A ceremonial exchange of documents on the relevant projects took place in the presence of the leaders.
