The President of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan

On August 9, as a part of his stay in Astana, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The issues of further strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed.

The fruitful results of the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, as well as the exhibition of Turkmen products, held in July this year in Tashkent were noted with satisfaction.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of increasing the volume of mutual trade and promoting cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, including industry, energy, agriculture, and transport.

The importance of expanding interregional ties and intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchange programs was emphasized.

An exchange of views on regional issues also took place.
