On April 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the United Arab Emirates led by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suheil al-Mazrui, who was visiting our country as part of the program of the second meeting of the ministerial dialogue “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council,” the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei conveyed to the head of our state sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the country, Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, Vice President Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan and the Crown Prince Emirate of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalid Al Nahyan.
Issues of further expansion of practical interaction in priority areas were substantively discussed.
The current highest level of Uzbek-Emirati multifaceted cooperation was noted with deep satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade turnover is steadily growing. There are over 300 enterprises in Uzbekistan with the participation of Emirati capital. The portfolio of joint projects exceeded $4 billion.
The importance of developing and promoting promising investment projects in such industries as green energy, metallurgy, agriculture, transport and communications was emphasized.
Special attention is paid to the preparation of a technical project and the start of construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway.
The schedule of upcoming high-level events was also reviewed.
