The President of Uzbekistan met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

On the sidelines of events in Davos, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Practical aspects of further deepening the strategic partnership and expanding cooperation with this leading financial institution were discussed.

The bank’s cooperation with our country is sustainable and strategic. Uzbekistan remains the EBRD’s largest partner in the region. The bank’s investments amounted to almost $7 billion.

In 2025, the volume of operations exceeded $1 billion, including those aimed at supporting the private sector.

The EBRD’s contribution to the development of green energy, the modernization of transport infrastructure, the implementation of environmental programs, financial market reform, and the promotion of entrepreneurship was highly praised.

Priority areas of cooperation for the current year were identified, including the development of the private sector, infrastructure, the digital transformation of rail transport, and others.

Particular attention was paid to continuing programs to train women and young people in modern professions and business.
