The President of Uzbekistan met with the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei

As the part of the official visit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The head of our state thanked for the warm welcome and sincere hospitality provided to the delegation of Uzbekistan on Iranian soil.

During a friendly and open conversation, the parties paid special attention to the development and strengthening of bilateral ties, discussed the planned measures to further deepen the Uzbek-Iranian comprehensive cooperation.

The cultural and historical commonality of the two peoples, achieved over many centuries, was especially emphasized.

The parties, noting with satisfaction the growing dynamics of contacts, stressed the need to implement promising joint projects and programs.

Practical steps were noted to expand cooperation in such areas as trade, innovation and high technology, investment, industrial cooperation, transport and communications, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

An exchange of views took place on topical issues of the regional agenda.

The meeting was held in a warm and trusting atmosphere of constructive dialogue.
