The President of Uzbekistan called for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation with the United States

The next item on the business agenda of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s working visit to Washington was a meeting with US Trade Representative Jamison Greer, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The practical results of the signing ceremony of bilateral documents related to joint projects were discussed.

The confident momentum in the development of Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations, particularly in trade, economic, and investment, was emphasized.

Progress in implementing measures to expand mutual trade was noted with satisfaction. Last year, trade turnover exceeded $1 billion.

Special attention was paid to enhancing practical cooperation on completing our country’s accession to the WTO and the US side’s continued support for these processes.

To develop regional approaches to sustainable supply chains, technical regulations, and digital trade, it was proposed to intensify cooperation within the framework of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between the countries of Central Asia and the United States (TIFA).

At the end of the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan invited Jamison Greer to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum in June of this year.
