The President of Uzbekistan called for strengthening ties with the US state of Utah

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a business delegation from the US state of Utah, including David Bednar, elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Miles Hansen, chairman of the Stirling International Charitable Foundation, the press service of the head of our state reports. U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick also participated in the meeting.

Prospects for developing trade, economic, and investment cooperation with the state of Utah were discussed, given the growing momentum of the Uzbek-American strategic partnership.

The active contacts and exchanges between Uzbekistan and the state of Utah were noted with satisfaction. Joint projects in digitalization, education, and social protection have been launched.

The significant potential for implementing projects in innovation, mining, women’s entrepreneurship, inclusive education, healthcare, water supply, and sanitation was emphasized.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a visit by a delegation led by the Governor of Utah to Uzbekistan to develop interregional ties.
