The Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States discussed prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations

On August 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the United States Donald Trump, the press service of the head of our state reports.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan once again congratulated Donald Trump on the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.

President Trump, in turn, noted that Uzbekistan-U.S. relations had reached an unprecedented level and that a close and trusting dialogue had been established between the leaders of the two countries.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the consistent implementation of all agreements reached at the highest level and discussed prospects for the further development of the strategic partnership.

They highly appreciated the strong momentum of bilateral contacts and exchanges, which now encompass virtually all areas of cooperation.

The three-year Economic Cooperation Program is being implemented consistently. The first meeting of the U.S.-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council has been held. Cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and U.S. states is expanding. The introduction of a visa-free regime for U.S. citizens is helping to promote business contacts.

Joint projects are being implemented in civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, energy, metallurgy, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and other sectors.

In discussing the international agenda, the leaders emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to ensure global security and to promote the peaceful settlement of international and regional conflicts.

The two leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.

At the conclusion of the conversation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited President Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a mutually convenient time.
