On January 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on improving the efficiency of Uzbekneftegaz Joint-Stock Company, the press service of the head of our state reports.
Our country is consistently implementing measures to strengthen energy security, ensure a stable supply of energy resources, including natural gas, to the domestic market, and ensure uninterrupted supplies to economic sectors. At the same time, the growing demand for natural gas by the economy and the population requires identifying new reserves, improving the efficiency of existing fields, and commissioning new ones.
In this regard, Uzbekneftegaz Joint-Stock Company has been tasked with dramatically improving its performance in the industry and implementing modern approaches.
It was noted that in 2025, the company’s enterprises produced 25.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, drilled 56 new wells, and completed major workovers at 29 wells.
In 2026-2027, the plan calls for maintaining stable natural gas production volumes, as well as implementing more than 300 geological and technical measures.
The presentation outlines the priority tasks that must be addressed to achieve these targets.
Specifically, special attention will be paid to improving the efficiency of geological exploration and geological and technical measures, increasing reserves, ensuring stable production volumes, and streamlining procurement procedures.
Furthermore, measures are planned to create a value chain through advanced gas processing, the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products, and the financial recovery of the company and its enterprises.
It is noted that the company will prioritize improving operational efficiency, including ensuring financial stability through the divestment of non-core assets, the cessation of sponsorship payments, and cost optimization.
The company’s priority areas also include the digitalization of production processes and the widespread implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, strengthening internal control and compliance systems, overseeing the movement of financial assets, and preventing corruption and conflicts of interest.
The head of state instructed that the assigned tasks and all planned activities be carried out based on precise calculations, strict discipline, and personal responsibility.
The presentation also touched on man-made situations that occur during geological exploration, including in the Surkhandarya region. It was emphasized that such incidents are a natural part of the complex process of searching for new promising deposits and occur globally. It was noted that the necessary measures are being taken in our country to address such situations.
The President instructed responsible officials to pay special attention to strengthening ongoing monitoring in the areas where geological exploration is being conducted, implementing modern control technologies, and ensuring public safety.
