Priority tasks for the development of digital technologies were considered

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the achievements and priorities for 2026 in the development of digital technologies, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The presentation noted that in recent years, the country has been implementing consistent measures to develop the digital economy, digitize public services, and create an innovation ecosystem. According to research by international experts, the total value of the country’s startup and venture ecosystem will reach $3.9 billion by 2024-2025. The number of domestic startups has exceeded 750. Currently, 15 venture funds are active, with venture capital exceeding $180 million.

Uzbekistan is recognized as the second fastest-growing startup ecosystem in the world and the fastest-growing in Central Asia.

The presentation noted that by 2030, the number of startups is expected to increase to 5,000, the number of startups entering the international market to 200, and the volume of venture capital investments to $2 billion.

To this end, a four-stage startup support system is being implemented based on international experience. Grants, tax incentives, co-financing mechanisms, and reimbursement of export expenses are envisaged at the idea, development, launch, and scaling stages.

Plans for the further development of electronic government services were discussed. Specifically, plans are underway to increase the number of digital services to 900, expand the functionality of the MyGov.uz mobile app, implement artificial intelligence technologies in more than 50 services, develop a Unified Population Register, and fully digitalize business opening processes, register individual entrepreneurs, issue bank cards, obtain SIM cards, and provide insurance and advertising services.

The presentation provided information on the progress of work to create an infrastructure for artificial intelligence technologies. Thus, a modern small supercomputer has been commissioned, and work on acquiring and launching a large supercomputer is in the active phase. As a result of the project’s implementation, artificial intelligence laboratories will be established at 15 higher education institutions, the potential of relevant specialists will be enhanced, and opportunities for the development and implementation of domestic AI solutions will be expanded.

The need to expand the network of modern data centers in the country’s regions, as well as to ensure the security and continuity of data storage and processing, was noted.

Special attention was paid to the development of telecommunications infrastructure. It was emphasized that this sector is achieving sustainable growth rates: internet speed and coverage are increasing year after year, and the quality of mobile communications is improving. In 2026, further implementation of 5G technologies is planned, expanding high-speed internet coverage in populated areas, and expanding the use of satellite communications.

The President noted that digital technologies directly contribute to the competitiveness of economic sectors, the effectiveness of public administration, and the quality of life of the population, and gave relevant instructions to responsible officials to implement these tasks.
