A “roadmap” was signed with Azerbaijan on expanding cooperation in energy

According to the “road map” on energy signed by Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, the parties will encourage mutual investment in energy projects. It is also envisaged to expand the partnership between Uzbekneftegaz and SOCAR, including opportunities for joint exploration and production of hydrocarbons.

On August 29, the Ministries of Energy of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan signed a road map to expand cooperation in the field of energy, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

The document was endorsed by the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev and Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahboz.

On the basis of this roadmap, during 2022-2023, the parties will be invited to take part in relevant competitions for the introduction of renewable energy sources, and exchange of knowledge in the field of construction of new thermal power plants through private investment is envisaged.
