A meeting took place between the Head of the MIIT and Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan

On March 24, a meeting took place in Tashkent between Laziz Kudratov, Head of the MIIT, and Sherali Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, the press service of the MIIT reports.

During the talks, the parties discussed the progress of joint initiatives in sectors such as metallurgy, the agro-industrial complex, electrical engineering, textiles, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, and others.

Specific next steps were agreed upon to prepare joint industrial facilities in both countries for the commencement of construction and the launch of production lines.

In 2025, bilateral trade turnover reached $912.3 million, reflecting a 30% increase, with exports at $683 million and imports at $229.3 million. Currently, more than 500 joint ventures operate across both nations: 386 enterprises with Tajik capital in Uzbekistan and 116 enterprises with Uzbek capital in Tajikistan.
