The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade met with the CEO of the Egyptian company ‘‘Nile Sugar’’

The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between Minister Laziz Kudratov and the CEO of the Egyptian company ‘‘Nile Sugar’’, Emad Farid, the press service of the Ministry reports.

During the conversation, the parties thoroughly reviewed the progress of the company’s project on cultivating sugar beet and establishing a sugar production with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons in the Jizzakh region.

Representatives of ‘‘Nile Sugar’’ highly appreciated the conditions created in Uzbekistan for investment activities. It was noted that the launch of the investment project in the Jizzakh region would make a significant contribution to the development of the industry and improve the country’s export capabilities.

As a result of the meeting, additional joint measures were developed to accelerate the construction of the project with the involvement of Egyptian experience and technologies.

‘‘Nile Sugar’’ Company was founded in 2006 by the Egyptian Sawiris family and is part of the ‘‘Orascom Group’’ holding. The company is the largest sugar producer in Egypt.
