Meeting with Director General of the Finnish Foreign Ministry Department M. Liivala

On May 28 the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade held a meeting with the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland M. Liivaloy.

During the event, the prospects for the development of Uzbek-Finnish cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, textile industry, ICT and healthcare were discussed.

The Finnish side expressed its readiness to continue to actively participate in the Advisory Committee of the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral region, as well as to attract additional funds from a number of donor organizations, financial institutions and private companies in Finland.

The Uzbek side’s proposal to hold international exhibitions and fairs in Uzbekistan and Finland in order to stimulate direct business contacts, the growth of mutual trade and the volume of investments was received with interest.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a more detailed dialogue on priority areas of partnership within the framework of the upcoming next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as a business forum with the participation of business circles of the two countries.
