On July 18, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with representatives of the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led by Managing Director for Central Asia Huseyn Ozkhan, the information service of the Ministry reports.
The meeting was attended by the head of the representative office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Uzbekistan Andi Aranitasi, senior banker for infrastructure Alexander Rogachevsky, senior banker for financial institutions Zulfira Akhmedova, as well as Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khurshed Mustafayev and Jasur Karshibaev, Chairman of the Committee on Highways Jamshid Tursunov and other responsible representatives.
At the beginning of the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on cooperation with the EBRD and its prospects, joint projects and accumulated experience, effective economic transformations that have occurred in our country in recent years.
During the conversation, the parties discussed changes in the banking and financial sector, in particular, accelerating the processes of privatization and transformation of SOBs, cooperation in public-private partnership projects in the fields of education, healthcare, energy, continuing reform of SOEs and increasing the efficiency of projects, support small and medium enterprises projects, development of microfinance.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to further expand and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
