Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade met with the Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Economic Development, Effective Governance, and International Cooperation

On October 24, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Khurram Teshabayev met with Sir Suma Chakrabarti, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Economic Development, Effective Governance, and International Cooperation, the press service of the Ministry reports.

The meeting focused on key areas for strengthening the country’s export potential – enhancing the competitiveness of domestic products, expanding the geography of foreign trade, and improving the system of exporter support.

Particular attention was given to strengthening the position of national products in foreign markets, developing logistics infrastructure, and enhancing cooperation with Uzbekistan’s embassies abroad to promote domestic goods and build partnerships with international companies.

The parties emphasized the importance of non-financial support measures – such as advisory services, participation in international exhibitions, certification, and marketing promotion – which are especially relevant in the context of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO.

Sir Suma Chakrabarti praised the progress of ongoing reforms and underscored the importance of promoting value-added products. Both sides confirmed their commitment to further cooperation in developing export infrastructure and coordinating efforts with foreign trade advisers.
