A seminar of PPP investors of Uzbekistan was held

The new development strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PP-60, provides for attracting investments in the amount of 14 billion USD on the basis of public-private partnership (hereinafter referred to as PPP) (goal 26).

These investments provide for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the fields of energy, transport, healthcare, education, ecology, utilities, water management and other areas.

Also Appendix 7 to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 8, 2022 PF-101 “On further reforms to create conditions for sustainable economic growth by improving the business environment and developing the private sector” – A “Roadmap” was approved in the field of projects planned for implementation in 2022-2024 on a PPP basis.

In order to ensure the successful implementation of these infrastructure projects with the support of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Agency for the Development of PPP and the company “Synergy Consulting” with the cooperation of international and local investors, a “Seminar of PPP investors of Uzbekistan” was held within the framework of the Uzbekistan International PPP Roundtable.

The main purpose of the seminar is to raise awareness about PPP projects in Uzbekistan (social infrastructure projects, including 100 public schools, 100 preschool educational institutions, 100 student dormitories, and medical institutions), to expand the knowledge of local contractors about the PPP program and to enrich the understanding of the industry by local and international investors for future cooperation.

The seminar was attended by representatives of such financial institutions as the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, local and international investors, and construction companies. 

At the end of the seminar, a question and answer session was organized.
