On August 17 of this year, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov took part in the Uzbek-Afghan business forum as part of the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan to Kabul, the PR center of the Ministry reports. The event was also attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments, heads of industry associations and more than 500 representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
During the forum, such promising areas of cooperation development as expanding the list of goods of mutual trade, strengthening cooperation between manufacturers and exporters, intensifying relations between entrepreneurs, increasing the number of joint business events and visits with the participation of business circles of the two countries were discussed.
On the sidelines of the forum, the exhibition ‘‘Made in Uzbekistan’’ was held – one of the systemic measures of the plan to increase the volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan to 1 billion dollars. The exhibition presented the products of 80 large Uzbek companies in the automotive, textile, jewelry, food, electrical, mining and pharmaceutical industries.
‘‘B2B’’ and ‘‘G2B’’ negotiations were organized within the framework of the exhibition, which allowed entrepreneurs to establish new useful contacts and discuss practical aspects of joint projects and trade agreements.
During the visit, Laziz Kudratov also held a meeting in Kabul with the Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuriddin Azizi. The parties reviewed the current state and prospective areas of development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Practical aspects of the implementation of joint investment projects in the areas of trade, transport and production of building materials were agreed upon.
