During the visit, the delegation of our country was received by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrohim Raisi. Meetings were held with Minister of Foreign Affairs Hussein Abdullahian, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrposh, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran, Co-Chair of the Uzbek-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission Reza Fatemi-Amin.
At the talks, prospects for strengthening Uzbek-Iranian cooperation in the fields of politics and diplomacy, trade and investment, transport and logistics were considered. The parties discussed the course of preparation for the joint events planned for the current year. An exchange of views took place on the effective use of the transport and communication capabilities of Uzbekistan and Iran to enhance economic diplomacy.
A business forum was organized in Tehran with the participation of heads of large Iranian companies, during which issues of implementing joint investment projects in the fields of pharmaceuticals, the production of medical equipment and building materials, the chemical and textile industries, and agriculture were discussed.
During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan also met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri. During the talks, various aspects of regional cooperation in the ECO space were considered.
