Walloon trade mission will visit Uzbekistan

Uzbek diplomats yesterday met with European Director of The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency Yves Richard, Regional Manager Alexandra Tonkikh and Trade and Investment Advisor for the Walloon and Brussels Regions Eric Bletard (via videoconference), the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries, The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency or the Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) is a department of the Walloon region responsible for promoting foreign trade and attracting foreign investors. “AWEX” supports Walloon companies at every stage of their internationalization (exports, technology partnerships, representations abroad) regardless of their size, sector of activity or target markets.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the current development of bilateral cooperation between the Walloon region and Uzbekistan, the trends for further building up mutually beneficial contacts in the areas of promoting exports and attracting foreign investment.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain contacts on a regular basis, exchange information, in addition, jointly study the issue of a trip to Uzbekistan in June of a delegation (trade mission) under the auspices of “AWEX”.
