According to the report of the correspondent of “Gazeta.uz”, the French oil and gas company Total Energies wants to develop a network of electric filling stations in Uzbekistan and open its representative office in Tashkent, company representatives said at the meeting with “Uzbekneftegaz”.
“Uzbekneftegaz” held talks with representatives of the French Total Energies, the company’s press service reports.
The French side expressed interest in implementing joint projects to develop networks of electric filling stations in Uzbekistan, the report said.
In turn, “Uzbekneftegaz”, headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Board for Transformation Bekhzod Usmanov, announced a phased transition to green energy, as well as measures to expand electric filling stations, taking into account the high market demand for electric vehicles.
The Uzbek company also stated that it pays special attention to the development of production at the fields (upstream) and the launch of new projects for the deep processing of hydrocarbons at the Uzbekistan GTL.
Representatives of Total Energies announced plans to open a representative office in Tashkent, which will represent its interests throughout the Central Asian region.
Total Energies is the largest French oil and gas company, fourth in terms of production in the world after Royal Dutch Shell, British Petroleum and ExxonMobil. In recent years, it has been actively developing the use of environmentally friendly types of energy. The company currently operates in more than 130 countries.
The company plans to sell 1,600 filling stations in European countries and increase investment in electric filling stations amid EU plans to end the production of cars with internal combustion engines by 2035.
