The CCI of Slovenia is interested in partnership with Uzbekistan

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov held online negotiations with the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia Marjana Majeric, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

At the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of establishing cooperation in the investment, trade and tourism spheres, promising areas and joint projects, and other topical issues on the bilateral agenda.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije – GZS), founded in 1851, is the largest and most influential business organization representing the interests of business and industry. The number of members includes more than 7,000 companies from various sectors of the economy. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry brings together 24 industry associations and a network of 13 regional chambers, providing a wide range of services including business information, consulting, event management, and access to Slovenia’s innovation teams and technology transfer opportunities. The organization also offers support in the form of mediation, obtaining permits and organizing networking events, workshops and seminars. Plays an important role in the development of policy and legislation, partnering with government and participating in numerous government bodies, boards and committees.

The Slovenian side expressed interest in establishing a partnership with the Uzbek side, strengthening investment, trade, as well as relations in the areas of innovation and education.

It was noted that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia has a current cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, which was signed in March 2005. However, at present there is a need for renewal and re-signing, taking into account new areas of possible cooperation and current trends in the market, including innovation, artificial intelligence, e-commerce and other areas.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a video conferencing meeting with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, identify the most promising sectors of the economy for cooperation and implementation of projects, and determine a list of agreements for elaboration for signing.
