Multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and China’s Jiangsu Province is being strengthened

Diplomats of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Beijing and Consulate General in Shanghai visited Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, to expand cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and China, the correspondent of Dunyo News Agency reports.

During the visit, a number of important and productive meetings were held with the provincial leadership, representatives of major industrial companies, and business circles.

In particular, discussions with Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, focused on the development of interregional cooperation and collaboration in the fields of investment, trade, logistics, industry, education, and tourism.

The Chinese side was informed about the measures being implemented in Uzbekistan to create favorable conditions for Chinese businesses in the country’s regions, including tax incentives and preferential treatment.

It was noted that Jiangsu Province has a strong economy, active scientific and technological innovation, and a rich cultural heritage.

Xin Changxing expressed satisfaction that Jiangsu places great importance on exchanges with the regions of Uzbekistan and voiced support for further expanding cooperation, implementing major investment projects, deepening economic and trade cooperation, and promoting cultural exchanges.

To identify new promising areas of interregional cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment sectors, a delegation headed by Jiangsu Vice Governor Zhao Yan is expected to visit Uzbekistan in the near future.

Jiangsu is one of China’s leading provinces in finance, education, technology, and tourism. It ranks first in China in gross regional product per capita and second in total gross regional product (approximately USD 2 trillion). The province is a major exporter of electronic equipment, chemicals, and textiles and a significant recipient of foreign direct investment. Jiangsu is also a national leader in research and education, with 168 higher education institutions.
