Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic are discussing prospects for expanding trade and economic ties

Employees of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main held a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

The meeting was organized with the aim of intensifying cooperation between the two countries in all areas and enriching the agenda of Uzbek-Czech trade and economic relations with new practical content.

The event was attended by the Director of the Foreign Trade Department Martin Pospishil, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Eastern Europe and Central Asia František Masopust, Head of the Department of Eastern Europe, Western Balkans and Central Asia of the Department of European Countries of the Ministry Matyas Viktor.

In particular, issues of expanding business contacts between the business circles of our countries, implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan in the transport industry, as well as mutual increase in trade volumes within the framework of regional development programs were discussed.

During the meeting, the Director of the Foreign Economic Department Martin Pospisil highly appreciated the results of the visit of the government delegation of our country to the Czech Republic.

He also noted that an agreement had been reached on the participation of the heads of relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan in the International Engineering Fair, which will be held on October 8-11 in Brno. As part of this event, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to hold a conference dedicated to the development of cooperation between Czech companies and partners from Central Asia.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the development of bilateral relations and strengthening of business contacts between the business circles of our countries, mutual increase in trade and creation of a platform for maintaining regular contacts. The parties positively assessed the results of the business forum held in December last year with the participation of business circles of the two countries.

An agreement was reached on organizing another economic event in the Czech Republic with the participation of Uzbek and Czech businessmen.
