Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia intend to strengthen trade and investment cooperation

On August 16 this year, on the eve of the visit of the Head of State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, a meeting was held between the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev and the Minister of Trade of Saudi Arabia Majid bin Abdullah al-Kasabi.

During the conversation, promising measures were discussed to increase the volume of mutual trade, ways to further strengthen investment cooperation, as well as the economic agenda for the upcoming visit of the Head of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia.

A 13-fold increase in bilateral trade since the beginning of this year was noted, mainly due to active mutual supplies of textile products, fruits and vegetables, plastic and metal products. The parties expressed mutual interest in both increasing the volume of deliveries and expanding the range of shipped commodity items.
