Uzbekistan and Russia are planning to create a joint development fund, the correspondent of “Gazeta.uz” reports. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this on October 6 at a meeting with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
“The issue of creating a joint fund with Uzbekistan, a development fund, is necessary today, because in fact we have serious intentions in cooperation with Russia. In these difficult times, we need to cooperate. There are very real, serious achievements in cooperation. We have a lot of areas where we have achieved good results in cooperation”, – said the head of state.
On October 4-6, the 3rd Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan was held in Kazan, in which the leaders of all 14 regions of Uzbekistan took part for the first time. In total more than 3000 people.
“We meet in more than 80 regions. The leaders of the intergovernmental commission are constantly in contact. And the result: yesterday, when I visited the exhibition, I saw all the regional leaders, although we are in the cotton season. I told our Prime Minister [Abdulla Aripov]: we need everyone to go, because we have something to talk about, something to work on”, – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
After the meeting, Mikhail Mishustin introduced the President of Uzbekistan to the capabilities of the coordination center of the Russian government, which was created to solve current and strategic tasks of the government, as well as to work to achieve national development goals approved by the President of the Russian Federation, and support the implementation of national projects.
On October 6, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as a result of which 10 documents were signed.
