Uzbekistan imported 13 aircraft worth $633.1 million in January

In January, Uzbekistan imported 13 aircraft from Germany, Lithuania, France, Singapore and the UK, “Gazeta.Uz” reports. The cost of the aircraft is estimated at $633.1 million.

In January, Uzbekistan imported 13 aircraft from abroad for the amount of $633.1 million, the Presidential Statistics Agency reported.

Deliveries are made to five countries:

  • Germany – 6 aircraft ($421.7 million);
  • Lithuania – 4 ($66.7 million);
  • France – 1 (64.3 million);
  • Singapore – 1 (61.6 million);
  • United Kingdom – 1 (18.8 million USD).

As the press service of the Customs Committee told Gazeta.uz, Uzbekistan imported 5 Airbus A321-253nx, 3 Airbus A320-200neo, 2 Airbus A320-232, 2 Boeing-737, 1 Dassault business jet Falcon.

In November 2022, “Gazeta.uz” reported that France would supply Uzbekistan with 12 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, as well as 5 ATR 72-600 aircraft for a total amount of almost 800 million euros. It is also planned to purchase two Airbus H145 helicopters.

The aircraft could be from different Airbus factories in Europe. In particular, the manufacturer has its own factories in Germany, France, Great Britain, Spain, China, India, Poland and the USA. In addition, Uzbekistan could purchase business jets.

In May 2021, “Gazeta.uz” reported that Uzbekistan Airways, as part of the unification of its aircraft fleet, plans to return several Boeing aircraft to the lessor and receive Airbus aircraft. At the same time, 17 Boeing and IL aircraft from 1999-2013 were put up for sale.
