Issues regarding the development of trade and economic cooperation with Uzbekistan were discussed in the Aktobe region

Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau held a meeting with Galymzhan Yeleuov, Deputy Akim of Aktobe Region, the correspondent of the Dunyo news agency reports 

The talks focused on bilateral cooperation, trade and economic ties, tourism, and cultural cooperation.

According to the Akimat of Aktobe Region, trade and economic turnover between Aktobe Region and the regions of Uzbekistan reached $25 million in the first half of this year. Positive dynamics in this indicator were also noted.

The meeting also addressed the transit of significant volumes of cargo bound for Uzbekistan through the territory of Aktobe Region, as well as measures to ensure their prompt and safe movement.

The Akimat of Aktobe Region expressed its readiness to facilitate the further development of bilateral ties and provide support to entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan. In this regard, an agreement was reached to organize a visit by entrepreneurs from Aktobe Region to Tashkent on October 8–9 this year.

The active development of cooperation in tourism was also noted. Since August this year, two flights per week have been operated on the Aktobe–Tashkent route, with tourist flows showing an increase.

As part of the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the first meeting of regional leaders, held in Aktau in July this year, the parties discussed the activities of the Uzbekistan Trade House in Aktobe. According to available information, the volume of trade and economic transactions conducted through the Trade House has currently reached $500,000.

Representatives of the Consulate General also held a meeting with the leadership of the Atameken Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Aktobe Region and local business representatives. The event was attended by representatives of more than 15 major enterprises in the region operating in the food industry, livestock farming, manufacturing, and petrochemicals.

Kazakh entrepreneurs expressed interest in developing and strengthening business ties with entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan. In addition, to facilitate direct contacts between business representatives, it was proposed to establish a Unified Register of Manufacturers.

The meeting also resulted in an agreement to support the organization of the planned visit by entrepreneurs from Aktobe Region to Tashkent at a high level and with a strong focus on practical outcomes.

Representatives of the Consulate General also met with individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities and the export of Uzbek products in Aktobe Region, and familiarized themselves with the activities of the Uzbekistan Trade House.
