206 new investment projects have been launched and construction has begun on them in Andijan

During his visit to the Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a ceremony launching investment projects and initiating the construction of new ones, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The favorable conditions for entrepreneurship and investment established in the region in recent years are fostering industrial development, the creation of new production capacities, and employment opportunities for the population.

The ceremony showcased 206 projects with a total value of $9.4 billion. Ninety-eight projects worth $2.05 billion were commissioned, while construction began on 108 projects with a total value of $7.35 billion.

These projects span sectors such as energy, construction, textiles, mechanical engineering, education, tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. They will be implemented across all 16 cities and districts of the region.

Specifically, operations were launched for a cotton-textile cluster, an electricity storage and distribution system, industrial zones for furniture and leather-footwear production, and the manufacturing of electric buses, solar panels, and small-scale hydropower equipment; additionally, modern educational and medical centers were commissioned.

Plans under these new projects include the creation of modern residential complexes, international logistics and tourism centers, hydroelectric power plants, waste-to-energy facilities, and new production capacities for vehicles and freight railcars.

The projects are being implemented in cooperation with companies from China, Turkey, South Korea, the USA, Russia, Belarus, Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates, and Tajikistan, as well as with local investors.

Implementation of these projects will create over 45,000 new jobs and generate an annual production volume of 60.6 trillion soums. Export potential is projected to reach $533 million. Officials from all cities and districts of the region, foreign partners, and project initiators participated in the ceremony via video link. They presented information on the significance of the projects, their implementation progress, and their scheduled commissioning dates.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to the foreign partners and local entrepreneurs participating in the implementation of these initiatives.

By pressing a symbolic button, the President launched 98 new projects and inaugurated the construction of 108 facilities. Subsequently, a discussion was held with investors and regional officials.
