New opportunities for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in the field of technology metals were discussed in Berlin

A roundtable dedicated to developing cooperation in the field of technology metals and critical minerals, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies for their extraction and processing, was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, the correspondent of Dunyo News Agency reports.

The event was attended by representatives of German business circles, specialized companies and the expert community, as well as a delegation from the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMC).

The discussions focused primarily on the development of strategic and critical mineral resources, the introduction of advanced technologies for the extraction and deep processing of raw materials, and the production of high-value-added products.

In his remarks, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov noted that combining the country’s rich mineral resource base with advanced German technologies creates opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of critical raw materials and strategic minerals.

Representatives of TMC delivered a presentation on the complex’s activities, ongoing projects, and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. In particular, participants were informed about plans to attract international technology and investment partners, develop deep processing of available resources, and produce competitive products.

Particular attention during the discussions was given to developing a complete production cycle, from geological exploration and extraction to raw material processing and the production of finished products. The participants also considered industrial cooperation, the attraction of advanced technologies and investment, as well as the establishment of sustainable production and logistics chains.

As part of the event, B2B meetings were held between TMC representatives and German entrepreneurs. The areas discussed included supplies of products manufactured in Uzbekistan, including molybdenum and tungsten, to the German and European markets, as well as the participation of foreign companies in production clusters.

According to Timur Khikmatullayev, Special Representative of the Chairman of the Management Board of TMC for Global Integration, German partners were also invited to participate in specialized clusters being established in Uzbekistan and become residents of the future Metals Technopark.

“German partners were primarily interested in supplying critical minerals, including molybdenum and tungsten products, to the German market,” he said.

Joni Bakos, Head of UzTRadeHouse Germany GmbH, emphasized the importance of supporting Uzbek companies in entering the European market.

“We are ready to assist Uzbek entrepreneurs in establishing contacts with German businesses, as well as with export, logistics, and financing matters,” he said, also highlighting the importance of Uzbekistan’s economic potential for further developing bilateral ties.

Mark Vengrzig, Head of AKA-Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft, noted the accumulated experience in financial cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for expanding it.

“Now the main task is to jointly realize these opportunities by strengthening cooperation, exchanging experience, and developing new business and investment projects,” he said.

Following the meeting, the parties identified promising areas of cooperation between Uzbek and German companies, including technological partnerships, investment, supplies of critical minerals, and the localization of production in Uzbekistan.
