Cooperation plans between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Hungary were discussed in Budapest

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev held a meeting with the newly appointed Deputy Secretary of State for the Development of Eastern Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Adam Stifter, to discuss the organization of bilateral events for the coming period, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

During the meeting, the parties noted that in recent years, Uzbek-Hungarian relations have significantly strengthened in all areas, as evidenced by the organization of six visits by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto to Uzbekistan only since the beginning of 2020, despite the pandemic period. At present, there is a regular active dialogue at various levels, including at the highest level.

It was emphasized that one of the important milestones in the development of bilateral relations was the official visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Uzbekistan in March 2021. The multifaceted relations between the countries have been brought to a qualitatively new level of strategic partnership, bilateral ties are being strengthened in the trade, economic, investment, financial and technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The meeting also discussed issues of holding consultations between the legal departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to improve the legal framework for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.
