The Embassy of our country in Cairo organized online negotiations between representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Port Said region of Egypt, the correspondent “Dunyo” news agency reports.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Mansurbek Kilichev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Davron Vakhabov, Deputy Governor of the Port Said region Said Amro Usmon and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city of Port Said Muhammad Saada and others.
During the negotiations, it was proposed to consider the issue of opening a trading house of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in the city of Port Said, which, in turn, could serve as a center for the import and export of Uzbek-Egyptian goods and services. As a result of the implementation of this initiative of the CCI, in the future it will be possible to export goods from Uzbekistan to the countries of Africa, Europe and Asia.
Said Amro Usmon, for his part, stated that he was interested in the implementation of the above project and noted that the import of goods from Uzbekistan to Egypt, Africa and Europe through Port Said is the best option, since Port Said has all the necessary conditions for logistics, including warehouses, transport communications and others. In addition, he noted that there is a special investment law and a special economic zone, which play an important role in the import, export and re-export of goods and services.
At the end of the talks, Said Amro Usmon stressed that Port Said is ready to provide all possible support for the implementation of initiatives to create a Trade House of the CCI.
In turn, Muhammad Saada highly appreciated the intention of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to open a trading house in Egypt and said that East Port Said is the most attractive city for the import and export of goods, taking into account logistics, transit and other advantages.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to establish a joint working group for a thorough study of all issues related to the creation of a trading house and the launch of the project.
