Ambassador of Uzbekistan Jakhongir Ganiev met with the President of the Club of Spanish Exporters and Investors Antonio Bonet Madurga and the club’s coordinator for Asian countries Ramon Garzon, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
The Club of Spanish Exporters and Investors was founded in 1997 and is a multidisciplinary, independent and non-profit business association whose purpose is to represent and protect the interests of its members in relation to their international activities. The activity of the club is focused on the internationalization of business in Spain, together with the Spanish government, as well as public and private institutions, international organizations and the media. The members of the club are Spanish companies with extensive experience in international markets, whose turnover is equivalent to 20% of the country’s GDP, 40% of which is in international business. The members of the club have more than 800 thousand employees and their investments abroad account for 50% of the total international investments in Spain.
The Spanish side noted the growing interest of club members in the Central Asian region, in particular in Uzbekistan, as one of the most dynamically developing countries with a steadily growing economy and great investment and export potential.
Considering the advantageous location of the country with the presence of common borders with all countries of the region, as well as partnerships with the European Union, which is currently chaired by Spain, the leaders of the club expressed confidence in the existence of huge opportunities for Spanish companies in the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to hold a number of events with the participation of members of the club to discuss and work out the implementation of joint investment projects in Uzbekistan and the establishment of bilateral trade between the countries.
