In January-March, 10,489 cars were imported to Uzbekistan, Spot reports with reference to the Statistics Agency.
Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the volume of deliveries increased by 1981 vehicles or 23.3%. The total value of cars imported during this time amounted to $283.7 million, which is almost 1.5 times more than last year.
In March alone, the local car market received 5,463 foreign cars worth $149.5 million. This exceeds the figures for the first two months of the year combined.
China maintains its position as the main supplier of cars to Uzbekistan. Since the beginning of the year, 6,007 cars have been delivered from there, 3,467 of them in March. It is followed by South Korea with 3643 cars, including 1562 in the last month.
Deliveries from the United States also increased sharply – in March they reached 243 vehicles out of 460 in the first quarter. Japan at the same time exported 23 cars to Uzbekistan (81 since the beginning of the year), the same number came from Germany (59 in three months).
