A meeting was held at the MIIT with the delegation of Thailand

On July 19 of this year, the acting Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulamov held a meeting with the delegation of Thailand led by Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country Bussadi Santipitaks, the PR center of the MIIT reports.

The delegation included heads of such large Thai companies as ‘‘Samitivej Hospital’’, ‘‘PTT Oil and Retail’’, ‘‘Thai President Food’’, ‘‘Siang Heng’’, ‘‘Marine Tech International’’, ‘‘CTI Logistics’’ and ‘‘Anita Silk Company’’.

The Thai side expressed gratitude for providing a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan for up to 60 days.

Positive results are shown by the growth rate of mutual trade between the two countries – in the first half of this year, the volume of mutual trade increased by 170%. The importance of taking measures to increase the number of joint investment projects and increase trade turnover to $500 million in the near future was noted.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached to develop a plan of joint measures for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, including, among other things, the implementation of joint projects in the fields of agriculture, tourism, the food industry, the production of textiles and electrical products.
