A meeting with the Chief Investment Officer of the Indonesia Hajj Financial Management Agency was held at the MIIT

On May 13, Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Indra Gunawan, Chief Investment Officer of the Indonesia Hajj Financial Management Agency, the press service of the Ministry reports.

The Indonesia Hajj Financial Management Agency is a state financial institution that manages pilgrim funds based on Sharia principles. It specializes in developing the Hajj ecosystem through instruments such as sukuk, real estate, and other Sharia-compliant assets.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the implementation of Islamic financing mechanisms, and the development of financial instruments such as sukuk, murabaha, and ijara in Uzbekistan.

The sides explored opportunities for the development of the halal ecosystem and pilgrimage tourism, including the construction of hotel infrastructure in Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent, as well as the implementation of joint projects targeting Southeast Asian markets.

Following the meeting, the Indonesian delegation was invited to participate in the upcoming 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
