On November 8-9, the sixteenth summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be held in the city of Tashkent under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the head of our state reports.
The event is expected to be attended by the heads of state and government of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.
In accordance with the agenda, issues of further expansion of trade, economic, investment, transport, communications and humanitarian cooperation within the framework of the ECO, as well as improving the activities of this multilateral structure, will be considered.
As part of the summit program, the leader of Uzbekistan will hold a number of bilateral meetings.
It should be noted that the Economic Cooperation Organization was founded in 1985 with a permanent secretariat in the city of Tehran.
The Republic of Uzbekistan has been a member of the ECO since 1992.
