WB forecasts GDP growth in Uzbekistan of 4.3% in 2021

The World Bank forecasts GDP growth in Uzbekistan at 4.3% in 2021 and 4.5% in 2022.

According to the World Bank, GDP growth in the country in 2020 amounted to 0.6%, which is not bad relative to the general decline of the world economy, which amounted to 2.6%.

The report says that “The region’s economic growth is projected to be modest in 2021, just 3.3%, as new COVID-19 outbreaks continually disrupt business activity. This projection assumes that a potent vaccine will be rolled out in developed countries and major emerging market and developing countries in the region, including Russia, in early 2021, and in other countries later in the same year. It is also assumed that there will be no escalation of geopolitical tension in the region ”.
